Motivation Ideas and Inspiration Cynics, Skeptics & Everyone Else

1. Complainers have too much time on their hands.

Stop whining and get a life! If you don't have at least two remedies or plausible solutions for every one of your whines, then just keep your mouth shut and leave the rest of us, who are actually trying to make the best of a deal, alone.

2. Here's the secret to becoming a millionaire; EARN IT!

Stop depending on winning the lottery, marrying into wealth or getting hit from behind by a multi-millionaire. Instead, invest wisely. Give some back to the community. The universe helps those who know where they want to go. Become a shrewd business person and get a financial plan that outlines your savings strategy.

Work for a company that rewards your efforts with unlimited earnings potential and lots of career growth. Live below your means and use credit cards sparingly or not at all (unless you intend to pay off your debt at the end of every month).

3. If you hate your job, then pretend that you love it until you find something better.

Even if you own your own business, the grass is rarely greener elsewhere. The world is full of moronic bosses, pathetic customers and arrogant supervisors. You can't escape ignorance. But you owe it to your family to bring home a steady income.

Just when you think you can't stand another boring meeting, imagine yourself on a street corner, living in a corrugated box looking for donations. Suddenly your meeting won't seem so bad.

4. Here's the secret to staying motivated in the workplace; No work -- no job.

No job -- no phone, electricity, water, car or supportive spouse. Do what you love and make a difference in the lives of every person you touch. But never forget, that in the final analysis, we're all replaceable by someone who will do it faster or cheaper and try to do it better.

5. Here's the secret to a great love life; Make an effort!

Relationships die because of empathy and distance. If you're going to get involved in any "long-term" relationship then decide early how important your job is, how much time you're willing to give your partner and if you've got the fortitude to handle all the responsibilities that come with passion, love, communications and commitment to another person. Marriage or moving in with someone is not a license to stop working on the relationship.

6. Never tell a customer to go to hell unless:

  • there's another one (or roomful) begging to do business with you.

  • your customer has no means of communicating with the outside world.

  • that customer only see you as the cheapest means to an end and expects a better bargain every time they do business with you.

7. There's a time and place for BS:

  • cow pastures

  • most partisan politics

  • promoting products, services and ideas that are fundamentally worthless.

Beyond that, communicate with your lovers, family, friends, co-workers, bosses and buyers honestly, straight forwardly and enthusiastically. No one has time for head games and stupid misunderstandings.
