A New Approach to Cultivating an Addiction to Passion & Positivity in the Workplace

Passionholics™ encourages individuals, teams and leaders to focus on what's "right" as opposed to what's "wrong."

This interactive day of training teaches practical, easy-to-implement strategies for helping the organization to cultivate a positive, supportive atmosphere where passion thrives and people communicate with each other without malice.

It also seeks to give participants permission to accomplish their personal and professional goals and to experience all that life has to offer.

Objectives:

  • Full day (approx. 7 hours) or;

  • 2 half-day sessions (approx. 3.5 hours each)

Description:

Experience the power of Passionholics!™ as Brian Norris, passion and positivity expert, shares his insights into creating and sustaining a positive work environment.

Rather than focusing on what's wrong, Passionholics™ looks at what's right with the organization and what every one can do, regardless of their title or responsibility, to make their workplace even better. It's a realistic, insightful, fun approach to discovering the silver lining in every cloud and realizing that by working together, we can all be winners.

The session begins with defining what Passionholics™ is and its potential impact within the organization. Personal responsibility is immediately addressed as participants develop their own mission statements and are challenged to review their perceptions of the organization, their colleagues and buyers.

These areas of growth and awareness are discussed as the group divides into teams. Each team makes suggestions on what can be done on a personal level to create the ideal working conditions.

Then, through team exercises, facilitation and candid dialogues, participants identify areas of opportunities and key strategies for strengthening communications, mastering professional relationships and heightening the flow of positivity.

A quick test measures where the organization ranks on the Passionholic meter based on nine criteria. You may be surprised to see just how high or low everyone ranks the organization!

Afterwards, we begin to review what individuals, teams, supervisors and leaders can do to bring the collective score higher -- without finger pointing or scape-goating.

Our lively discussions include:

* what passion is and how it can be used to create a more productive, more focused organization

* the power of personal responsibility, positive attitudes, teamwork, courage, ethics and gossip-free environments.

* seven reasons why Passionholics don't always get the attention they deserve

* how to communicate with passion and connect with colleagues, employees, employers, customers and loved ones

* a guaranteed formula for increasing pride, effectiveness and eliminating negative beliefs or actions

Participants are then introduced to five types of Passionholics, and the strengths and benefits of each is discussed. Everyone is at least one of these types of Passionholics and has the power to contribute in a unique way. Participants discover that within the organization, no one individual or department can succeed independently.

We'll discover how to stay in our Passionholic zones and avoid getting overwhelmed, discouraged, burned-out or trapped by potential obstacles.

Participants are then introduced to the "Cycle of Positivity" and clearly see how to make sure that they stay positive and constantly make a difference through their ideas, actions and perceptions.

The following session dives into the specific ways to cultivate positivity and passion in the workplace at every level. We review the tools and options available to the organization, teams & departments, employees, managers, supervisors and presidents or CEOs.

We'll spend the second session diving into such topics and concepts as:

* Self-talk & positive questioning

* Affirmations

* Effective policies and procedures

* Coaching

* The right way to build high function teams

* The effects of gossip and back-stabbing

* Peer-to-peer, team-to-team trust

* Modeling

* Entitlement Syndrome

* The Law of Reciprocity

* The power of empathy vs. sympathy or patronizing

* Resolution without 3rd party mediation.

Finally, we develop a game plan to assure that what we've learned is incorporated immediately to make the organization an even stronger, healthier, productive, profitable workplace for everyone.

Participants will leave inspired, more driven and more appreciative of what they have. Equally important, participants will be more appreciative of their coworkers and of their jobs.

Passionholics is extremely customizable to your needs. Potential objectives include:

Team Building & Leadership Essentials: Attendees discover what it does, and doesn't take to build successful teams and promote can-do spirit. You learn:

* to build teams based on strengths versus weaknesses

* how to motivate teams to succeed

* how to hold them accountable for their performance

* the difference between managing and leadership

* how to achieve long-term results without having to play referee, fireperson or overbearing parent

* the three roles all good leaders play

* how to embrace and thrive on change

* the importance of accountability, systems and goal-setting

Positive Attitudes & Behaviors: Participants learn specific strategies for cultivating positively passionate relationships with bosses, colleagues and patients. These strategies arm participants with the a blueprint for:

* using positive self talk

* breaking through fear, cynicism and negative belief barriers.

* creating positive affirmations

* overcoming negativity in the workplace

* improving peer-to-peer relationships

* increasing morale and productivity

* staying motivated on a daily basis

Communication Skills: The entire day focuses on communicating values, ideas and expectations verbally and nonverbally. Participants also learn:

* to communicate clearly and assertively

* to overcome gossip

* to praise and encourage others formally and informally

* the value of listening and using silence to communicate

* to give feedback without being seen as pushy or putting the other person on the defensive

* the value of giving specific feedback

* how to speak "Boss" and "Employee" so that you consistently create win-win outcomes

* the art of asking questions to getting results quickly

In addition to half day, full-day or multiple day formats, Passionholics is also designed to include monthly or quarterly follow-ups to make sure that changes are being implemented & goals are being met.
