AUGUST

Today's Thought: It's generally best to be yourself. Not everyone may like your honesty, your sense of humor, your confidence, your demeanor, your optimism (or lack thereof). Still, it takes too much energy to maintain a facade. Not only do you forget who you really are, you end up attracting the wrong kinds of people into your life. So just be you.

###

Today's Thought: Whenever you find it difficult to be happy or find a reason to smile try these options: 1) strip down to your undies and run through the sprinklers. 2) build a fort out of bed sheets. 3) make up words to your favorite song and sing out loud, really loud. 4) Get a massage!

###

Today's Thought: Dear God, thanks for giving me eyes to see, ears to hear, a nose to smell, hands to touch & a voice to graciously say "no thank you, just browsing!" Thanks for the wisdom to only purchase what I can pay cash for or at least pay off within 30 days. Watch over me while I shop joyfully. Protect me from the allure of impulse buying. Help me to walk away w/o guilt or regret, even if it IS on sale. Amen.

###

Today's Thought: we are in constant dialogue with God and the angels. A lotus position or on your knees in prayer posture is hardly necessary to converse with them. So don't just sit there praying, wishing or meditating. Get off your butt and do something that brings you closer to whatever it is you claim you want.

###

Today's Thought: Our physical body does its best to contain the restless spirit within. The spirit yearns for the endless wonders of the multi-universe while the body just wants 10 more minutes in bed and to catch most of the green lights on the way to work. I say life is about giving both the spirit & the body what they need. So build in time to hit the snooze button at least once.

###

Today's Thought: Love is powerful stuff. So I suggest we love actively AND on purpose. Love wisely AND in moderation. Too much love channeled in the wrong direction can suffocate a person, sever their capacity to be reasonable, or strip a whole generation of their capacity (or willingness) to be self-sufficient.

###

Today's Thought: I know that sometimes you want to just want to escape the chaos, the burden, the ever present responsibilities. I urge you to resist the temptation to run or coast through your commitment. Instead, keep going. Don't just "finish the job"; act as if what you do now will become the gold standard for decades to come. Show the angels what you've got!

###

Today's Thought: I dare you not to multi task. Can you even do just one thing at a time anymore? Or are you and I forever fated to a life of texting, eating breakfast, chatting live with a loved one and reading something all at the same time?

###

Today's Thought: Spend the majority of your time actually turning your most pressing dreams and most sincere aspirations into reality. Refrain from simply chatting about your hopes & wishes. Resist the urge to over complicate your plans. If you're too lazy, too busy, or too fearful, find someone to assist with the first few steps.

###

Today's Thought: Consensual, loving touch is a beautiful thing. Be it the gentle resting of your hand on a person's arm, or the warm embrace of another to say what words seldom do, or a forearm pressed and rolled along the corridors of your aching back, touch is healing and necessary. Embrace your affinity for touch and enjoy it.

###

Today's Thought: Set a clear example of how you expect to be treated by being good to yourself, even when you think no one is watching. Give yourself sincere compliments. Keep your commitments. Put good things into your body. Reward yourself with small indulgences when you've exceeded your own expectations. Above all, be your own best friend even when you're angry or frustrated.

###

Today's Thought: Happy Monday & August 2nd. Happy morning jog, coffee break & afternoon nap. Happy 4pm traffic jam, 5pm deep tissue massage, 6:15 load of laundry, 7pm hot bath, 8pm cuddle and 10pm Netflix download. Halloween, Thanksgiving... even Christmas will all be here & gone again before you know it. Time flies. So enjoy this precise moment while you can.

###

Today's Thought: Where would we be without variety? I am so thankful the endless variations of hips, asses, thighs, calves, arms, necks, scalps, faces, hands and feet that grace my massage table. Every day is lovely adventure.

###

Today's Thought: Everyone has a kink or two (or three or four). Give yourself permission to be kinky. Find like minded people you can trust & explore your kinks with in a safe, sane and consensual capacity. The world really is your playground, so enjoy it.
